Storm Damage Flood Control Projects - Ellis Swamp, Broad, Pungo, and South Creeks
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Wilmington District

The project consisted of the repair and replacement of multiple drainage culverts, removal and disposal of all fallen and leaning trees, restoring creek bank around end of pipe culverts by backfilling and placing riprap stream protection, and a major slope repair for four separate Flood Control Districts along 47 miles of drainage creeks. A total of more than 8,000 trees were removed and disposed by burning, 81 culverts replaced, and over 1,000 tons of riprap installed.

Hydrologic Restoration of the Amite River Diversion Canal
State of Louisiana - Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA)

Creation of 12,000 linear feet of new nourishment channels. Work included clearing and grubbing, spoil bank excavation, railroad embankment excavation, and erosion/ turbidity control.

Turkey Point Canal Filling - Turning Basin and Turtle Point
Florida Power & Light

Restoration of two canals to elevation for improvement of water quality by importing and placing of aggregate within the canal limits. The fill material was trucked in from a supply location and placed into a stockpile within the waterway by means of a stacker/conveyor. From that stockpile, the material was dredged and placed to the required elevations utilizing barge-mounted equipment. 230,000 Tons of material was placed and dredged within the canals. Project also involved intricate and extensive turbidity control implementation due to the environmentally sensitive nature of the area, requiring a 0.0 NTU turbidity standard.

Hurricane Irma Waterway Debris Removal

Waterway vegetative debris removal on approximately 42 miles of canals in Coral Springs, Florida and 40 miles of canals in Broward County, Florida. Services included waterway debris removal by bank, barge, and boat, off-loading to a Debris Management Site (DMS), and transportation for final disposition/disposal.

Tropical Weather Debris Removal

Storm debris removal around wetland areas from within Arlington Park, McDuffie Island, and North Garrows Bend. Due to the sensitive nature of the wetland areas and the potential for environmental impacts, all debris had to be cut and removed by hand utilizing ground crews and mechanical winching with excavators on barges positioned in adjacent waterways.

Design-Build project consisting of demolition of existing single corrugated metal arch culvert crossing and replacement with new double-row 12'x12' reinforced concrete box culverts. Work included clearing and grubbing, demolition, excavation, dewatering, concrete mud slab construction, limestone subbase, placement of reinforced concrete box culvert sections, flowable-fill backfill, structural concrete headwalls and wingwalls, placement and compaction of select import fill material, limestone roadway construction, slope grading, riprap placement, and turf establishment.

Creation of 150-acre dry-bottomland, hardwood forest where invasive and nuisance tree/plant species had overtaken. Work included clearing by chipping/mulching in-place, aerial and ground applications of herbicide treatments, planting over 84,000 varying species of trees and shrubs, and maintenance mowing.

Grand Isle Dune Repair and Armoring

The project consisted of repairing a 2,200 linear foot section of dune on the western end of Grand Isle that was destroyed during Hurricane Isaac. Repair work included geotextile tube installation, sand backfill, placement of separator geotextile, riprap armoring stone placement (2,000-pound size), vegetative dune planting, and sand fence construction.
